Ljeto je na vratima, a s njim i nova dub arena! ☀️🎶

Za vrijeme pisanja ovih redaka, autoru je sinulo da ovaj program već postoji, u jednom ili drugom obliku, već devet dugih godina! ⏳🎧 Zbilja smo se trudili, (a trudimo se još uvijek) u naš mali grad na obali Jadrana dovesti najbolje aktere internacionalne i domaće soundsystem scene, uzimajući u obzir ne samo naš ukus, nego i želje bande koja već godinama vjerno posjećuje naše sessione. 🌊🎵

Kako bi dostojno pozdravili ljetni solsticij, a i nedavno skuženu devetu godišnjicu Dub Arene, u goste smo pozvali jednog od stupova nove generacije UK soundsystem scene, sina legendarnog Jah Shake, “The Prince of Dub” – YOUNG WARRIOR! 👑🎤

Za balans snaga tu su nam drage starije sestre i ikone Omega vibrationa na ovim prostorima, sada s berlinskom adresom – ROOTS DAUGHTERS! ✨🌍  

Za ozvučenje tu je i resident sound, u punom efektu i postavi – MUNCHIES SOUNDSYSTEM! 🔊🎶

Da li jabuka ne pada daleko od stabla? Imate priliku vidjeti, čuti i prosuditi sami na fortu, naime, YOUNG WARRIOR premijerno dolazi na Dub Arenu! 🎉  

Inače, aktivan na sceni od davne 2005. godine, Young Warrior razvio je svoj prepoznatljiv, osvježavajući zvuk, istovremeno oslanjajući se na bogato glazbeno nasljedstvo blagopokojnog mu oca, koje mu je donijelo mnogobrojne pobornike i obožavatelje širom svijeta. 🌍🎶

Young Warrior već godinama radi i kao producent, surađujući s legendama poput Jah Shake, Gussie P, Mafia & Fluxy, Johnny Clarke, Sly & Robbie (TAXI), Ras Muffet (Roots Injection), Little Roy, Addis Pablo, Toddla T (Ninja Tune), Michael Prophet, pionirima jungle scene Congo Natty te V.I.V.E.K iz Mala’s dubstep kolektiva SYSTEM/Digital Mystikz, povezujući svijet duba sa dubstep scenom. 🎧🔥

Nakon smrti Jah Shake u travnju 2023., Young Warrior nastavlja očev sound system, održavajući naslijeđe živim, u tradicionalnom „Shaka warrior” stilu, roots i dub iz 1970-ih s modernim produkcijama.  

2026. je objavio novi 7-inch singl pod nazivom „JOURNEY” na etiketi Jah Shaka Music, u kolaboraciji sa živućim legendama Twinkle Brothers. 🎶🌟

Kako bi svijet bio u balansu, tu su i naše najdraže sestre iz dalekog Berlina, (ali s Pulom u srcu) ROOTS DAUGHTERS! 💖🌍  

Od davne 2009., prvi ženski kolektiv ovog žanra na našim prostorima, s početkom u ljubljanskom undergroundu Metelkove, Julie i Miss Moon, na svoj način oblikuju dub i reggae te (iako to tada nisu znale) utječu na mnoge mlađahne wannabe sound momke i djevojke. 👩‍🎤🎶  

(Neki od njih će kroz par godina postati članovi renomiranih soundsystema današnjice! )

Sis Julie odlazi 2013. u Berlin te uz Jahmintu Zulu nastavlja Roots Daughters putovanje. 🌍🎧  

Nekoliko godina kasnije, izrađuju vlastiti soundsystem i dovode cijeli projekt na novi nivo. 🚀

Do sada su vrtile sessione u klubovima i festivalima širom Europe – Dub Camp (F), Dour (BE), Reggae Geel (BE), Nuits d’Afrique (CAN), Amsterdub Weekender, Dubquake (CH), LAS Festival (PL), Reggaebus (BE), te dijelile stage sa zvijezdama poput Lee “Scratch” Perry, Dennis Bovell, The Twinkle Brothers, Jah9, Mad Professor, Samory I & Mortimer, King Shiloh Soundsystem itd. 🎤🔥

Roots Daughters odaju počast velikim glazbenim umjetnicama koje su u prošlosti bile kriminalno podcijenjene ili nepravedno zapostavljene pod parolom –

Za ozvučenje u super scoop stilu, pobrinut će se domaći Munchies Soundsystem  

Nakon uspješnog nastupa na Kratičarskim festovima TWG, ETP, ovo je uvertira u nadolazeći Escape the City festival! 🚀🎉

Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes a new Dub Arena! ☀️🎶

While writing these lines, it suddenly struck the author that this program has existed, in one form or another, for nine long years! ⏳🎧 We have truly strived (and still do) to bring the best actors of the international and local soundsystem scene to our small town on the Adriatic coast, taking into account not only our taste but also the wishes of the crew that has been faithfully attending our sessions for years. 🌊🎵

To honor the summer solstice properly, and also the recently celebrated ninth anniversary of Dub Arena, we have invited one of the pillars of the new UK soundsystem scene, son of the legendary Jah Shaka, “The Prince of Dub” — YOUNG WARRIOR! 👑🎤

For the balance of power, we have beloved older sisters and icons of Omega vibration in these parts, now based in Berlin — ROOTS DAUGHTERS! ✨♀️

And for sound, our resident crew in full effect — MUNCHIES SOUNDSYSTEM! 🔊🎶

Is the apple falling far from the tree? You have the chance to see, hear, and judge for yourself at the fort, because YOUNG WARRIOR is making his debut at Dub Arena! 🎉  

Active on the scene since 2005, Young Warrior has developed his recognizable, refreshing sound, while also relying on the rich musical heritage of his late father, which brought him many supporters and fans worldwide. 🌍🎶

Young Warrior has also been working as a producer for years, collaborating with legends like Jah Shake, Gussie P, Mafia & Fluxy, Johnny Clarke, Sly & Robbie (TAXI), Ras Muffet (Roots Injection), Little Roy, Addis Pablo, Toddla T (Ninja Tune), Michael Prophet, pioneers of the jungle scene Congo Natty, and V.I.V.E.K from Mala’s dubstep collective SYSTEM/Digital Mystikz, connecting the world of dub with the dubstep scene. 🎧🔥

After the passing of Jah Shake in April 2023, Young Warrior continues his father’s sound system, keeping the legacy alive in the traditional “Shaka Warrior” style  roots and dub from the 1970s with modern productions. 🎙️

In 2026, he released a new 7-inch single titled „JOURNEY” on Jah Shaka Music label, in collaboration with living legends Twinkle Brothers. 🎶🌟

To keep the world in balance, we also have our beloved sisters from far away Berlin — ROOTS DAUGHTERS! 💖🌍  

Since 2009, the first female collective of this genre in our region, starting from Ljubljana’s underground scene at Metelkova, Julie and Miss Moon have been shaping dub and reggae in their own way and (unaware at the time) influencing many young wannabe sound boys and girls. 👩‍🎤🎶  

(Some of them will in a few years become members of renowned soundsystems of today! ) Julie moved to Berlin in 2013, continuing the Roots Daughters journey with Jahmintu Zulu. 🌍🎧  A few years later, they built their own soundsystem and took the whole project to a new level. 🚀

They have played sessions in clubs and festivals across Europe — Dub Camp (F), Dour (BE), Reggae Geel (BE), Nuits d’Afrique (CAN), Amsterdam Weekender, Dubquake (CH), LAS Festival (PL), Reggaebus (BE), and shared stages with stars like Lee “Scratch” Perry, Dennis Bovell, The Twinkle Brothers, Jah9, Mad Professor, Samory I & Mortimer, King Shiloh Soundsystem, and more. 🎤🔥

Roots Daughters pay tribute to great musical artists who, in the past, were criminally underrated or unjustly neglected, spinning their records and spreading the message
